Sip, Print, and Collect

The night will culminate in an evening of cocktails and printmaking inspired by many of the works of art on view throughout the art auction. The activity will encourage participants to establish an intimate connection with the art on view, followed by an opportunity to place a bid in the auction for awards and prizes.

World Collage Day with Anjelika Deogirikar Grossman

Location: IA&A at Hillyer, 9 Hillyer Ct NW

In celebration of World Collage Day, Anjelika Deogirikar Grossman, contemporary artist and IA&A Practitioner member, will host an art collage activity at Hillyer. Participants will be encouraged to draw inspiration from the works of art on view in the “Modern Movements” exhibition. All supplies provided. This is a drop-in activity.

About the Artist

Anjelika Deogirikar Grossman is a Washington, DC educator, activist artist, and researcher. A FY25 grantee of the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities’ Fellowship Program, Anjelika is an artist-in-residence at the Georgetown Lombardi Arts and Humanities Program at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, where she regularly teaches free, online watercolor classes. Weaving Demonstration by Diego Borgsdorf Fuenzalida and Kayla Dantz

Kayla Dantz will deliver a workshop/demonstration of her photographic weaving style and Diego Borgsdorf Fuenzalida will demonstrate weaving by using his large Chilean style frame loom. Participants will be able to join in the weaving process itself and contribute to a collective woven work serving as a textile “guest book.”
