Hillyer Happenings
First Fridays
On the first Friday of every month, Hillyer presents newly selected artists as part of its monthly exhibition series. Monthly opening receptions coincide with Dupont Circle’s monthly artwalk.
Second Saturdays
On the second Saturday of every month, Hillyer features artist talks, workshops, and performances by featured artists as well as guest artists and curators.
Third Thursdays
On every third Thursday of the month, from 5 to 8 p.m., Hillyer provides an opportunity for the general public to view special exhibitions, and participate in related programs, beyond our normal business hours.
Talks and Tours
Throughout the year, gallery talks and guided tours are offered in conjunction with our monthly exhibitions.
Sketch Saturdays
On every third Saturday of the month, from 1 to 3 p.m., the public is invited to sketch in galleries. Participants can bring their own sketchbooks. Sketchbooks are available for a $10 donation. Visit the event page to learn more.
Workshops/Classes
Workshops and classes provide hands-on opportunities to learn directly from living artists. Reservations are required.

Event Rentals
IA&A at Hillyer is a unique contemporary art venue located in the artistic and internationally chic Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, DC. This renovated historic livery stable gallery hosts receptions, meetings and other social, corporate and non-profit events of up to 75 people. Learn more about event rental opportunities.
