Man Bond
Ric Garcia, “Man Bond” is on view in our current exhibition, Perspective. “My work builds upon the legacy of pop art to present a narrative about blended cultures.” This graphic work questions advertising and its implied messages, referencing hero worship and Latino and gender cultures.
Jeffery
Tyler Farinholt’s striking work, “Jeffrey”, is on view now! Tyler, originally from Westminster, Maryland, is “interested in exploring themes of loss, anxiety, isolation, and identity and uses a variety of materials to erase, sand, and dredge the portrait out from its background.”
“I am asking and I figured it out” Spencer Dormitzer
Spencer’s work is a combination of the image which he produces and the complex titles which he ascribes to the work: “I consider myself a broken story teller, using abstract and inanimate forms to ambiguously unite with a title” His piece will be on display here at Hillyer til the end of October!
Overlook and Transfer
Rita Elsner’s breathtaking and grand chalk pastel landscapes take on a surprisingly personal form. The texturized surface of “Overlook” is entirely made up of reclaimed paper bags and “Transfer” depicts an old subway token carving tracks into the snow.
