During Art All Night, Hillyer will feature three exhibitions: Te-Mao Lee, In-Between beings, Shelby Shadwell, EMERGENCY BLANKETS / VISCERAL, and Khaleelah I. L. Harris, Janie Flying Around. In addition to the exhibitions, Hillyer will feature three events throughout the evening.

Join us for a special musical performance featuring Huai-En Tsai (trombone), Shu-Ting Yao (violin), and Wan-Chi Su (piano) who will perform music inspired by the exhibition by Te-Mao Lee titled In-Between beings.
ABOUT THE MUSICIANS
Huai-En Tsai, Trombone Trombonist Huai-En Tsai is a dynamic performer whose artistry bridges cultures, generations, and musical traditions. Known for his versatility as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral player, and educator, Tsai serves as Principal Trombone of the Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra of Washington, Professor at Midwest University Washington Campus and Edwards Instruments Trombone Artist. He has collaborated with luminaries from the Vienna Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, Cleveland Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, and National Symphony Orchestra, appearing in concert halls across North America, Europe, and Asia. Tsai holds advanced degrees from Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University and has mentored a new generation of brass players through teaching and outreach. As one of the few Taiwanese trombonists with a doctorate in the U.S., he is a vital voice in today’s classical music scene, fusing technical command with cultural storytelling. His performances speak with warmth, clarity, and purpose, echoing a deep commitment to community and musical excellence. Shu-Ting Yao, violin “The audience was thrilled and impressed by Yao’s playing with full sound on all strings……the performance will remain unforgotten” - Schwarzwälder Bote, Germany Praised by The Black Forest Messenger of Germany for her "thrilled violin playing!" and "unforgettable performance,” violinist Shu-Ting Yao enjoys a dynamic career as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral performer. She frequently appears at major concert venues across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. A native of Taiwan, Yao began studying violin and piano at the age of seven. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Performance and Education from the National Taipei University of Education (NTUE), a Master of Music degree from the Peabody Conservatory, and a Professional Studies Diploma from the Mannes College of Music in New York City. She earned her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Catholic University of America, where she was a full scholarship fellow and a teaching assistant in the music theory department. Yao served as a professor of violin and viola at Frostburg State University. Currently, she is a violin faculty at Catoctin School of Music and she holds a private studio in Rockville, Maryland. Wan-Chi Su, piano Praised by the American Scholar for having played with “sensitivity and imagination,” pianist Wan-Chi Su has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in Asia, Europe, and the United States. She has played major venues including Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York, Salle Cortot in Paris, and Taiwan National Concert Hall. A founding member of Duo Sorolla, Dr. Su has toured the Eastern United States, appearing in concert series in Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. She also travels for the Piatigorsky Foundation, connecting with new audiences in unconventional venues throughout the entire United States. Dr. Su works often with venerated musicians, having performed with various members of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, violinist Hebert Greenberg, cellist Michael Kannen, baritone William Sharp, trumpeter Joe Burgstaller, pianists Seth Knopp and Benjamin Pasternack. Dr. Su performs the full range of classical repertoire. She has premiered music by active composers, such as Ying-Chen Kao, William Weigel, and Aaron Malone. She has also worked with celebrated composers like George Walker, Curt Cacioppo, and Aaron J. Kernis. Versed in many styles, she accompanies dozens of instrumental and vocal recitals each year. Currently, she serves as the organist for Memorial Episcopal Church. A dedicated educator, she enjoys sharing music with students at Georgetown University and Loyola University Maryland, while also maintaining a private studio.

Cyanotype Print and Poetry Workshop
Led by solo artist Khaleelah I. L. Harris, visitors will participate in a cyanotype print workshop inspired by her exhibition titled Janie Flying Around.
10:45 to 11:45 pm
The Art of Collage
Inspired by Hillyer’s three exhibitions, participants will make collage art using a variety of mixed media materials.
