Artist Talks by Devin Ratheal and Virginia Van Horn

Saturday, July 12, 2025, 1 and 2 pm

Devin Ratheal and Virginia Van Horn, two of our featured solo artists in July, will talk about their respective exhibitions. In his exhibition, Peel of the Real, Ratheal will address how his work reimagines his materialist experience as a transmogrification of his ancestors’ religious worldviews. Van Horn, in her exhibition, Palindrome, explores how her work derives inspiration from the Roman god Janus—two faces that represent past and future, moments of transformation, and double identity.

Devin Ratheal, 1 pm

Virginia Van Horn, 2 pm

The program is free to the public (a suggested donation of $10)

Third Thursday

An Artist Talk with Darlene R. Taylor

Thursday, Thursday, July 17, 6:15 pm
Free to the public ($10 suggested donation)

During our monthly third Thursday program, Darlene R. Taylor will lead an artist talk about her exhibition For the Beauty She Gave Us. In her exhibition, Taylor engages with mid-19th century forms, including silhouette, dressmaking, and quilting that reimagines mothers who have no song or poem to honor their legacy.

Free to the public (suggested donation, $10)
