Artist talks are part of Hillyer’s ongoing program offerings that occur on a monthly basis in conjunction with its featured solo artist exhibitions.
Artist Talk with Joan Cox

Hillyer’s featured solo artist, Joan Cox, will lead a gallery talk about her exhibition Sapphic Gaze. In her exhibition, Cox crafts visual narratives that champion intense, celebratory, and nuanced relationships among lesbian couples.

A Salon Talk with Renée Stout
Organized by the Millennium Arts Salon in partnership with IA&A

Organized by Juanita Hardy, co-founder of the Millennium Arts Salon and Board Chair of International Arts and Artists, the program will feature Mel Hardy, MAS Co-Founder and Peace/Art Activist, in conversation with Renée Stout, a renowned DC-based artist. Stout will discuss her work “The American Way,” which is currently featured in the exhibition Democracy in the Crossfire: Art, Identity, and Resilience, her views on the exhibition, and activism through her art.
