Sponsorships

Hillyer is now offering new sponsorship opportunities in 2024. By supporting IA&A at Hillyer, you can support the operation of our exhibition and program spaces, public programs and events, and valuable assistance for artists. Below are several ways to show your support.

Art Gallery Sponsorship

Monthly Exhibitions

Every month, Hillyer features three solo and/or curated exhibitions a month. Most artists and curators are selected from our Annual Call for Proposals. Each exhibition receives between 600 and 800 visitors a month, which is great exposure for any sponsor is a passionate advocate for the arts. Annual sponsorships for Hillyer’s gallery spaces include:

  • Gallery One ($6,000)
    Gallery one is Hillyer’s largest gallery space. It is generally reserved for group exhibitions or large scale paintings and sculptures, as well as, installation-based exhibitions.
  • Gallery Two ($4,800)
    Gallery two is the second largest gallery, which is more square than wide. This exhibition space is ideal for paintings, prints, works on paper, but can also be multi-faceted to include sculpture, video, and installations.
  • Gallery Three ($3,600)
    Gallery three is the smallest gallery, more long than it is wide. Since the space is narrow, it is ideal for flat works such as paintings and multimedia works. Although the space is small, exhibitions have also include sculptural installations suspended from the ceiling and AI (artificial intelligence) integrations.
  • All Three Gallery Spaces ($15,000)

Sponsor name and logos are featured on wall panels for all non-sponsored exhibitions, printed flyers, and digital materials, such as monthly newsletters, Hillyer’s website, social media platforms, and digital signage. Promotions for each artist’s exhibition will also include a recognition of the gallery sponsor. Please contact the Hillyer Director for more details.

Public Events and Programs Sponsorship

First Friday, Second Saturday, and Third Thursday 

During each monthly exhibition, Hillyer offers public programs to engage diverse segments of the DC community. Programs range from artist talks and panel discussions to workshops and performances. As a sponsor, you have the option to support one or all of the following on an annual basis:

First Friday Exhibition Openings ($6,000)

Each monthly exhibition opens on the first Friday of the month. The openings include exclusive member receptions from 5 to 6 p.m. and receptions for the general public between 6 and 8 p.m. First Fridays also coincide with Dupont Circles monthly art walk, which helps to attract 400 to 600 visitors a month—many of whom are first-time visitors. Wine and refreshments are served at each event

Second Saturdays ($6,000)

Second Saturdays are monthly programs that highlight specific artists or artists whose works are on view at Hillyer. Organized as gallery talks or workshops, the programs provide opportunities for the public to gain a deeper insight and understanding of the works on view.

Third Thursdays ($6,000)

Third Thursdays are monthly programs that range from topics related to our featured artists to poetry slams, films, and music performances. This monthly program is coordinated in partnership with other galleries in museums such as the Phillips Collection, Studio Gallery, ADA Gallery, Korean Cultural Center, and the Washington Studio School.

All Public Programs ($20,000)

Sponsorships support Hillyer operations, staff, artist stipends and materials, equipment rentals, and reception costs. Sponsors are recognized on all print materials, Hillyer’s website, e-newsletters, digital signage, and social media. Please contact the Hillyer Director for more details.

Artist Assistance Sponsorship

In addition to exhibitions and programs, Hillyer is seeking sponsorships for artists in need of financial assistance. This much needed form of assistance supports artists who are required to travel across country or from other countries. Assistance also includes support for overnight accommodations, shipping, and installation costs. The support can also be in the form of a fund named after the sponsor (e.g. the David Furchgott Artist Exhibition Fund). 

Annual Artist Exhibition Fund ($15,000)

Sponsors are recognized on all print materials, Hillyer’s website, e-newsletters, digital signage, and social media. Special events arrange in coordination with the artists can also be arranged specifically for the sponsor in honor of their support. Please contact the Hillyer Director for more details.
