During the first Friday of every month, from 6 to 8 p.m, Hillyer features opening receptions for new solo and curated exhibitions. The next First Friday event is May 3, 2024.

The public is invited to the opening reception for Julieta Tetelbaum’s installation “Black Chalk Intimacy” and Khánh Lê’s exhibition “From this Moment.” Come and meet the artists in person and mingle with friends.
Free to the public.
Includes wine refreshments (A donation of $8 is suggested)

The public is invited to the opening reception for “Contemporary Echoes: Rediscovering Italian Art from 1950-1980,” curated by Renato Miracco. The exhibition features 18 works by 9 prominent Italian artists, and serves as a captivating exploration linking the artistic journey of Italian and American artists, drawing inspiration from BFF’s art collection dating back to the late 1980s.
Dupont Circle Artwalk
Dupont Circle Art Walk is a monthly event organized by Dupont Circle BID. Coinciding with Hillyer monthly exhibitions that open on the First Friday of the month, the art walk gives visitors an opportunity to visit other cultural institutions in the Dupont Circle area.
