Crazy Quilt Collage Artmaking

Saturday, June 14, 2 to 4pm

Inspired by the exhibition, From Fabric to Paint: Funk, Soul, and the Art of Avis Robinson, visitors are invited to create their own crazy quilt collages inspired by the art and designs of Avis Robison’s quilts and paintings.

Free to the public and open to the entire family! (a donation of $10 is suggested)

A Salon Talk with Eugene Robinson

Thursday, June 26, 6 to 8 pm

The Millennium Arts Salon will host a salon talk with Eugene Robinson, a Pulitzer prize-winning journalist and former associate editor of the Washington Post. Inspired by the exhibition, From Fabric to Paint: Funk, Soul, and the Art of Avis Robinson, Eugene Robinson will share his personal thoughts and reflections about his life-long companion, Avis Collins Robinson, and her passion for art, education, and African American history. Robinson was renowned for her evocative paintings and quilts that delved into themes of race, gender, oppression, and history, capturing the richness of African American life and the broader human experience.

Free to public (a suggested donation of $10)
